Default LE marked 4043

Sharing pics of a 4043 issued to the Jefferson City Missouri Police.
Bought it (and 3 spare mags) at a gun show, and it's my only double stack 3rd Gen. I hope and pray that people continue selling off their unwanted 40XX 3rd Gens at reasonable prices

Congratulations, that gun looks to be in excellent condition! Being a LE handgun, does this model have the double strike capability and the magazine disconnect feature?

I have a 5906 and 4516-2 that are both LE trade ins and I enjoy shooting both.

I don't understand the rumor that the 40 caliber is dead. Well, if it helps bring the price down on the older S&W 3rd Gens 40s, then that would be a good thing!

I really like the S&W DAO 3rd Gen models. I carry a 6946 as my EDC gun.

Thanks!! It is in great condition considering it was police dept. issued. It wasn't used much. Maybe they didn't carry this model for very long.?.?..
As far as the "double strike capability"...I'm assuming that you mean that it can be dry fired numerous times after the slide is racked...Nope. Only one shot.
And the mag disconnect is functional. I'm considering fixing that when i replace the 'dead' night sights.

I love the .40, and also have a 4053 that i had once considered converting to 10mm...but why now that there are many compact 10mm pistols available? Most commercial 10mm available theses days is neutered and not much more powerful than .40.

Nice looking .40!

I personally find it a shame that Departments have appeared to cease with marking their handguns with a crest or other form of identifier.
Thanks to our politically charged PC world!

I like it !!
I’m also a fan of the .40 caliber and S&W’s 3rd gen .40 cal. Guns. One of my first 3rd gen purchases years ago was this awesome shooting 4053TSW . I love how this thing shoots and still have it to this today
