2213 magazine from a 422 mag?

I picked up a well used 2213 at a gun show today, but unfortunately it only came with one magazine and replacements are $$$ everywhere I’ve found one in stock. 422 magazines, on the other hand are $30 at most and they work just fine except for hanging out of the bottom.

Has anyone seen a successful chop job on a 422 mag to make it fit flush?

Isn't just as simple as shortening the mag body, the base slides onto the body, you have to duplicate the dimples to make that happen.

I just use them as is, if you have a 3d printer there is an extender sleeve floating around you can print.

I thought about possibly just clamping it together and silver soldering a base. It wouldn’t matter if the bead was a little big as long as it stuck out just a tiny bit.

Realize also that you will have a lower capacity converting a 10rd. The factory 8 round mag has the full size 12 round(orange) follower in it. So a 10rd mag will net you ~6 rounds cut down.
