No, it isn't mine. I happened to be at my favorite LGS/Range this morning to wring out some 1911 .38 super magazines and I saw this on the used / consignment shelf. Larry said it JUST hit the shelf. I checked it out a little bit even though I had no intention of buying. They don't fit my hand well. They were only asking $250 for it if memory serves and it didn't appear to have anything wrong with it at all. Even had nice sights on it. Anybody in the area interested it might be worth a look-see. (I damn near bought it myself on spec but I didn't.)

It was at Barnwood Arms in Ripon, CA.

if in decent shape, and it works, and if you have the money, buy it...It is a must have chunk of stainless S&W perfection !!

If not in great shape will make a good parts pistol even at 250.00

The 'big wing' 5906 pistols are a hard sell, I think. I know I passed on all those that came up when I was active on estate auctions. Then one lunchtime Aimsurplus sent me an email offering 5906 Tacticals for $350. 5906 itch scratched.

Only "problem" with these that I have read is that S&W has no more parts for them and parts are hard to find elsewhere. That said, I have had several over the past many years and nothing broke on them and they all were good performers.

Are you referring specifically to adjustable sight parts or to general 3rd gen parts availability? I cant comment on adj sight parts, but Midway, Numrich, & Brownells still have some 3rd gen parts.
The most needed parts seem to be springs which are readily available, both S&W and Wolff for most 3rd gen pistols. As to 5906, used mags, mag parts, recoil springs, and even factory new Magazines are still available.

If it's in great shape I would say it's worth twice that.
