Has anyone else had this experience? The guide rod sticks out about 1/3 of an inch beyond the barrel bushing plate. I've looked at lots of photos of other 52's and none of them show anything like this. Other than a couple of misfeeds during my last outing, the gun seems to be working fine.

You may not be installing it correctly, or it's slipping before you get it assembled.
Otherwise check that you can't pull the rod away from the end that is crimped on.
