I have a 6906. I tend to shoot low and to the left and need to practice. Are snap caps required or is it safe to dry fire a 6906? I can't seem to find any information about it.

I had heard from a S&W armorer that it wasn't a good idea to dry fire the M&P 9. The manual says it is OK to dry fire. I emailed S&W and was told that " excessive " dry firing of the M&P 9 could damage the striker. The manual needs a revision.
