I have just acquired a couple of CS45's, both in near mint condition. Problem is the grip is not large enough for my hand. Pinky finger hangs over the mag. My question, is there an extended mag available for the CS45? The mag out of my 457 fits but of course there is a gap between the base of the mag and the grip. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. I would hate to have to sell them.

No extended mags that I am aware of. That is the price you pay for concealability of the CS45. While your longer 457 mags will fit and click in, take a look at the lips of the CS mag vs the 457 mag and you will see that the CS mag has an extra vertical indent on both sides. This is to prevent the sharper recoil of the CS from shifting the top round forward and causing jams and missfeeds. I have used 7 and 8 round mags in my CS, but they only function reliably with light loads.

Hi take a look at Big Dog's Custom grips for the CS 45.He makes Delrin grips for this gun and also does elongated versions that sounds like they will fit nice.I think his email is [email protected] look in the classified section for pictures to see what I am talking about.....Mike

I had one at a time that had a pinky extension on the bottom of the magazine. The magazine was standard capacity.

I have a magazine for my 945 that has two mag release notches that dimensionally fits. But I have not tried it with ammo. The older style mag with one notch will not fit.

I can not seem to find Big Dog's pics. are they in the classified under accessories? If you can offer a short cut it would be appreciared.

The original mags (and grips) are lame. Another example where the factory has a great idea, but poor execution. The mags need to be either a hair shorter or a bit longer. I ended up shortening the mags and using a flat floorplate, so that my pinky could ride comfortably underneath it.

Kurt,

That is a good looking CS45.

I tried the CS9 but it was too small for me. I think technology has given us the ability to make guns that are smaller than they need to be. I have a 3913 that conceals perfectly and has a grip that is just long enough to be comfortable. Why would I want something smaller? Except for pocket carry, cutting a half inch off the barrel and about the same from the butt can be more negative than positive in my experience.

Very nice looking CS45 KurtC ....... and you are correct. You don't want to go any smaller, when talking .45
