Not sure but there was some mention about S&W doing the M&P 10mm...maybe our ranting is not falling on deaf ears!
This would be much more usefull than the 310 NG.

If S&W did make an M&P in 10mm, there'd be a vapor trail leading to my dealers door!

If you folks want a 10mm M&P just hold of Zander's or Lew Horton's and tell them you want to place an order for 300 M&P's in 10 mm auto and I bet you would have them in 3 to 4 months.

It sounds like the making of a "group buy". Put me down for one, or two! Anyone who is going to SHOT this year, stop by the S&W booth and exclaim how wonderful of a hunting sidearm the M&P10 long slide would be. Maybe if Ted would be the poster child for it like Gunny is for Glock -- the S&W execs would go for it. Even if it was offered strictly as a Performance Center pistol -- I'd be interested.
The other option is to convince one of the after-market barrel makers to do a run of 10mm barrels in the M&P45 profile & get Wolff to offer an extra heavy recoil spring. We could alter the feed lips of the existing 45 magazines ourselves to make a conversion possible.

I would be happy with the M&P in 10mm in most any configuration but there are many posibilities...
OK here is the Ultimate Performance Center made M&P 10mm Full size 4.25" or 5" although 6" Long slide would be great for hunting model...
Interchangeable slides to match barrel lengths...
This package could include but not limited to...
4 cartridges one pistol!
10mm Barrel
40S&W Conversion Barrel
357SIG Conversion Barrel
9x25 Dillon Conversion Barrel
10+1 configuration Magazines
15+1 configuration Magazines
Night Sights Tactical is nice
Target Sights with adjustibale windage and elevation
Refined Trigger for target use
Recoil rods and Spring sets for different slides and cartridge use

Count me in too I have been itching for 1 since the first time I shot the M&P 40. I've had the Glock 20 for a long time but I would let it go for a M&P 10mm.

I joined this forum just so I could put my name on this list. If anyone at S&W is listening please make the M&P in 10mm. For those of us in bear country we sure would appreciate it. I'd love a brush gun that is easier to carry then my 629 classic.

I want a double stack S&W 10mm. The 1006 gets most of the
range time and needs a brother.
Please S&W - make a 10mm double stack semi auto. I'll be the first to buy it!

Joined to put my name on the list of people that would commit to buying a M&P 10mm were S&W to build it.
A few months ago I was in the market to buying a new gun, and I wanted a M&P, but more than wanting a M&P I wanted a 10mm. So I ended up with a G20SF. I love my Glock. It is a great gun. It shoots better than a 1911 in .45 ACP. Its recoil has a more masculine, firmer, push back with less barrel lift than the more snappy jerk of my Colt 1911 Combat Elite. I would love to own a M&P in this very versatile round.
Maybe we should call S&W and ask them what it would take to get a 10mm S&W in production.

M&P 10mm
For us to see this become a reality, there would need to be some sort of contract, LEO or Military for S&W to produce these the M&P10mm. It never hurts to keep buggin' them to make something for us regular customers.
Like I mentioned in a previous post, there are many posibilities to work with concerning this platform...especialy barrel/slide lengths and the cartridge conversion possibilities.
With the M&P10mm we could master the possibilities!

A 10mm M&P would be sweet, especially with some enhancements such as trigger improvments.
So wouldn't a 1911 and even bringing back the old 10** series would be nice.
I don't understand why Smith with all it's resources doesn't take advantage of this market.
I don't understand the 10mm revolvers...just doesn't do anything for me.

The only Glock I miss since selling them to buy M&Ps is my G29... I'd buy an M&P 10mm in a heartbeat!!
My preference would be for one sized like the M&P45C...

I like the G-29/20 I had, but something about the tupperware guns I never could warm up to despite of their advantages. To me a real 10mm is a 1911 or a 1006 for some reason.

With regards to the M&P 45 it maybe possible to cut a barrel chambered for 10mm to replace the factory 45 barrel and make it work. Magazine feed lips might need to be adjusted slightly to provide the cartridge the position needed to feed properly.
I am patiently waiting for conversion barrels for my 10xx series pistols with 5" and 4.25". When finished I will have the ability to shoot 10mm/40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon from each. The flexability of swapping barrels to utilize other cartridges is a neat concept. This has worked well from my Glock 29...

I think it would be bugger with the base of the 45 so much larger, you would need a different slide. I guess one made for a longer case.

IDK there are 10mm conversion barrels for the .45ACP Glocks. I think machining a barrel with the same O.D. as the .45ACP barrel to fire 10mm ammo would be a good thing as it would be thicker, and stronger and better able to support full power 10mm loads. I have a 6" LWD 9x25 conversion barrel for my G20. 9x25 Dillon is to 10mm what .357 Sig is to .40S&W, and I am using the factory 10mm slide. Again it just gives you more meat to support the more powerful load. I feel that getting a magazine to work would be the biggest challenge. You may also want to stiffen up the recoil spring if a conversion become available.

Anyone still want a M&P in 10mm?
I know several gys here locally that have jumped from thier Glocks to the M&P platform, but still like the power of the Glock 10mms.
I was into 100m for about 10 years, but my wiffe would never shoot them with me.
She is much more inclined to bust off .357 SIG rounds than the mighty 10, esp. when Doube Tap or hot reloaded ammo is involved.
That said..I still admire the 10 and the folks who shoot them.
I think that Smith would have a real winner with a M&P10.

Although I'd be happy with S&W producing the M&P in 10mm...The M&P in 10mm could lend itself to conversions as I mentioned earlier on...with just conversion barrels for 40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon.
The M&P 10mm bundled with the 40S&W/357Sig/9x25Dillon conversions would make a great ballistic performance package.

While a 1006 type pistol would be preferred, a 10mm M&P would suffice! I would buy one S&W.

An old LEO friend of mine retired his 1st gen Glock 20 and I bought it and 500 rounds of ammo from him. I shoot it enough to be proficient but it mostly lives in the glove box of my car when I'm on a road trip. I'm very inpressed with what this round does and would hock something to buy a M&P 10 pistol and/or AR type rifle in 10 mm.

I carried an issue 10mm for 14 years or so. Yes, I bought mine when it got replaced, but I'm not in love with the cartridge in a pistol. Now, if HK came out with a semi version of the MP10 for a reasonable price, that would be another story.

I have shot my 1006 in 3-gun competition for years; yes I download wad cutters to 10MM lite specs. Accuracy was awesome but loading this 10mm with 190gr FPJ just over 1300 fps, accuracy was also awesome and recoil very manageable. I now shoot 45acp in competition, not to win but to smoothly transition through the course with A zone hits. I notice more of a snap with 10mm recoil vs a push from the 45. I'm in if M&P makes 10mm.

I'm in on a M&P 10mm buy.
You folks need to lay off beating down the 10mm revolvers though. I'm a big fan...would actually prefer a 4 inch 310 to an M&P 10mm, but I'll take what's produced....would take both if both are produced!

I'm in!
I'd happily snap up a duty size M&P in 10mm. Assuming it would tolerate a minimal diet of hot 10mm, it would be just fine for those of us living in bear and cougar country who could be in the city an hour later.
In fact, it leaves me wondering... a common course for those who want a 10mm but can't find what they want is to buy a base pistol similar to what they're looking for in 40 S&W and then use a finishing reamer to chamber it in 10mm.
So... I wonder if you could take an M&P in 40, ream it out to 10mm, and then find the necessary springs to adjust for 10mm loads. Hmmmmm....

The problem is the magazines are too short to stuff the 1.250"/1.260" 10mm's in there from what i was told. I think I'd prefer it to be designed as a 10mm to start, knowing the full potential of the cartridge.

It's like someone else already said get a 10mm with interchangeable barrels for 40 S&W and 357 Sig and now you have a gun for every body.
Do you think they really listen when we post on here?

S&W announced the PC S&W M&P40 with the C.O.R.E. (Competition Optics Ready Equipment) slide mounted optics...
A nice S&W PC M&P 10mm with that ability and setup would make for some interesting additions to the mix...

I get all excited each time I see this thread bump to the top.
Then I get all sad because it's the same old no news.
I gave up on waiting for S&W to make the M&P 10mm and bought a Delta Elite to make thunder at the range.
But I would still snap up a M&P 10mm and maybe even a 10c.

I couldnt imagine shooting a 10mm out of a polymer gun. I have never shot the glock 10mm's, but after shooting the 1066 I have for a while, I dont know how a light polymer gun would be controllable with a full house 10mm

Nipster, I have the Glock 29, it is very shootable even with the potent cartridges like 200gr. XTP's running 1200-1240 fps. The grip spreads out the recoil and the lower bore center keeps the muzzle flip lower back into the web of the hand. Oh BTW the S&W 3rd gens do well also but I do like to run them using extra power recoil springs...22lb for the 5" models and 21lb for the 4.25" models which are all shooters.
But pestering S&W to come out with the M&P 10mm is like pulling hen's teeth...

Glock is making fools out of S&W because they don't have 10mm.
Are S&W manufacturers forced to be "endowed with less"?

A 10 mm M&P would serve as a great hunting/backwoods pistol. If they build it, the gun needs to fit M&P 45 holsters (sorry, no long slide).
