VOTE: Ultimate Concealed Carry/Personal Defense Revolver
Outlined below are arguably the best Personal Defense options maximized for reliability. For examples, see Smith and Wesson K, L, and N Frame Sights but with bobbed hammer. Also on this website is a blued example here Custom Revolvers - 1st thumbnail 2nd row.
My chosen mode of carry is on-the-belt or ankle (on rare occasion pocket).
Caliber(s):
.38/.357 .41 .44/.44 Magnum .45
Frame:
K-Frame or L-Frame Steel (No light-weight alloys) – added weight assists with recoil control
K-Frame preferred
Finish:
Standard blue
Unspecified; user’s choice (limitless options with cost being only limiting factor)
Sights:
(Front) XS Sight Systems Big Dot with green tritium insert
(Rear) Cylinder & Slide Extreme Duty fixed with green tritium inserts
Sight-in at 12 yards for carry ammunition
Barrel:
3” unported with full underlug
Ejection Rod:
Full-length
Cylinder:
Fluted
Charge holes - bright polished and chamfered
Hammer:
Bobbed with integral heavy-duty firing pin
Action:
Tuned for smooth 10 lb. pull
Double-Action Only (DAO)
Trigger:
Radiused and polished with over-travel stop
Grips:
Pachmayr Compac Custom (synthetic) or Eagle Secret Service (wood); user’s choice

Geez...guess all my guns are junk since none match the requirements. My ultimate HD gun is my trusty 12ga.

I'm more lost than usual. Are you asking us to vote on whether we agree with all your personal choices as being the best? If so, I vote no.

Your attempt to answer the ultimate revolver question needs to be broken down into several individual poll questions. From there you can develop a database. Methinks!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....................!
You've got it all figured out. That's it?
I think it is a bit presumptive to make such a definitive statement?
I agree with some of the things....but not all. Am I just "uninformed"? Hmmmmmm......!
I happen to like 1/7/8" barrel, round butt, J frame.....but what do I know?

In an attempt to bring the score of votes from being a lopsided victory, I voted no. For what I have no idea.

Firehouse,
Just to play the devil's advocate in this, I've taken the opposite position...
So in this very important matter I will vote Yes, dammit!

What?
If'n the bore dia. starts with a 44 or 45, the barrel length is 5" or less and she'll shoot every time I pull the trigger I'm all in.
I know this from being there.
Su Amigo,
Dave

Obama's in the white house, Ted Kennedy's dead and I just saw on one of the rags at the super market that Oprah may be gay. I'm thinking my vote don't count anyhow. Have mercy !

I vote "No" because:
1) K-Frame is too small. How will 44 and 45 caliber fit?
2) I don't like XS sights (yet). I prefer gold bead or Trijicon front sights.
3) I dislike bobbed hammers because I don't see a reason for them.
I'd probably go for a gun in 357 Magnum with a dark gray/black finish.
