(1/30 Update) Picked up my new Model 60 3" .357 today.

Got my 60 3" .357 today and can't wait to shoot it at the range on Thursday or Friday. Feels great in the hand. Goes nicely I think with my 67, 63 and 642.

1/30 - Shot the gun at my gun club today for the first time today and really liked it. Shot 100+ .38 specials and it felt great in my hand and I was fairly accurate with it. I think I will add some paint to the front site next time, which I'm hoping will help my accuracy a little more. All in all, I am very happy with this gun.

It's one of my favorites also

I was looking at an identical one at my local gunshop but opted for the 60 Pro Series. At my shop the difference in price was only $50 between the two. Mine is still in "jail" until the end of the month while the State does it's thing. My only recommendation is to either paint the front sight or get an insert notched into it to make it more visible. It made a huge difference on my 60-14 (2 1/8-inch barrel) There's a current thread about someone who just had it done on their 632 (with some nice photos)

I have a 3 inch Mod 60 & it's "snappy" with 125gr ammo.

3" is perfect size for a J frame.

I have a new one, 60-15, and it is less snappy but effective with 158 +P's and 135 +P+'s. I replaced the front sight with one with a red insert from the factory.

I played with the grips, putting on a set of Pachmayr Compact Pros which were very nice, but I shoot it better with the rubber bananas that came from the factory.

The 3" model 60 is one of my favorites. I have had several. I traded a couple away, only to return to it again, with the intention of keeping this one. They are great little revolvers. So far I have only fired 38's in mine. wyatte

I just got a 60-9 2" and shot it yesterday for the first time. It was more accurate in SA at 7 yds than my 2.5" 66-4 - I was a bit surprised.

FWIW: I reload my .38 Spec target ammo - and I 'dial it down' to the middle or bottom of the power range. Then I carry the 125gr +P in it for defensive purposes. I highly recommend the weaker .38 loads for practice. Oh, and I really like the J frames. I have the 60 3" and 642 no lock at the top of my 'to get' list.
