1-Adam 12 1-Adam 12

I grew up on the TV Land reruns. While the K-38s and Parker Center are gone, I still believe that the LAPD has the best looking cars and uniforms. The black and white is what every police car should look like, no silly slogans or graphics. And nothing looks more professional than the navy blue uniforms, with out any patches or piping. Some departments have uniforms that look like marching bands, and some look like the military. The LAPD uniform just looks like what a police uniforms should look like.

It's on YouTube. So is, Dragnet, both the 1950's series and the later one. But resolution isn't great.

You can also get, Blue Heelers, an Aussie cop show set in a small town in Victoria state. It improved some in the last two or so seasons with a hot female detective. The guns were usually heavy barrel S&W M-10's, with detectives having M-36 snubs.

Didn't one of the "Aussie Detectives have a S&W Model 19 2.5" ??

Two things stick in my mind about the Second Chance vest. First, the darn things were incredibly hot to wear, causing constant perspiration. On a hot summer day I weighed myself at the beginning of the shift, and again after my shift, and I had lost over 4 lbs. Serious dehydration and heat stroke were real possibilities.

In around 1973-74 the 100 Club bought the vests for
our officers.
They were exactly as you described.....HOT.
Think Houston, Texas in the summer time.
Wore it a few days and that was it.

Still have it.
I was 19 when I was sworn in.
5'11" and about 160lbs.

Retirement ID...6'3" 230lbs...

Tried it on a few months ago....
Looked like I was wearing a baby bib.

The thing I liked about Adam 12 was all the old cars. Especially that grey 1960 Chev convertable that was in almost every show.
Cars actually had color back then not like today when they are all have one solid color, no two tones or chrome.

Anyone else see that LAPD marked M-37 on GB ? $1900 bucks ! I guessed a little higher than that.
