Just bought a 10-5 2". Round butt, like new, with box, which is unfortunately in tatters. Serial # D8698xx. I would like to know the approx. manufactured gate. Paid $500, probably too much, but I have been a good boy this year. Thanks. Ken

I'm no date expert,but likely around 1976.....too much? not in my opinion, you're happy with it, that's what counts. if you bought it to "flip" maybe so....I shoot mine and take care of them,and keep them for the long run.....they're fun!

My 10-5 (which I have pictures of) was produced/shipped 63-65.

It seems that model 10 in 2-inch round butt has gained a new following
the last couple of years.

I purchased a 10-5 like yours a year ago in nearly new condition
with box for $596 and would do it again.

Likewise, I purchased a 10-7, 2-inch, Square Butt, unfired in box
two years ago for $600 and would also replay that number.

You found a nice one at a very reasonable price!!

thank you for the positive responses, I thought it was a pretty decent price. I also have a 10-5 square butt. Does anyone have a box lid or whole box for one? The box is in pretty bad shape. Thanks again and Merry Christmas everyone.

The one below was made in 1968. Serial number D138 9 the beginning of the D numbers), and I believe has the box. The 4" is also 1968. Both guns have less than a box through them. I paid 625.00 for the 2". I was looking for condition. I am considering selling the pair. We'll see

I can beat your pair of 10s, by about 8 or 9 years. A 2" 10 no dash and 4" 10-2. They are probably within a year or two of each other or so. Both of them came from a local gun show about 3 years apart. The 4" was a steal, the 2" I traded for.

I got my 2" M10-5 about 20 years ago from a Sacramento pawn shop for $150. That's a short distance to the city of Hayward, where it shipped in 1969. About 14 years ago my wife had it engraved for my 50th BD and I picked up the ivories and leather to complete the ensemble. Lastly, I added the Buck auto knife. My fav open carry rig.
