10-8 questions.

I'm looking to find out the ship date for my s&w model 10-8. I know 10-8 were manufactured from 1977 to 1988 so just wondering how old mine is. Also, the wood grips seem to have a slightly different color than each other so I'm wondering if that's normal or do the grips not match?

Get us the first four characters in the serial number off the bottom of the butt (as for example ADT5xxx or 2D86xxx). Thanks.

Looks like a 1979 shipped gun, before the pinned barrel went away. Hope this is helpful.
