friday I will be getting a blued HB 10-8 with factory wood grips(it has some holster wear) for $250.it was made in 1985 by the ssn.is that a fair price?

I'd snap it up for that price as long as the lockup and timing looked okay. I have a parkerized(? not sure what their gray finish is) 10-8 that I paid just a bit more for about two years ago.

I thought it was a good price.im also getting a G19 for him for $250 also.he needs money.

That's a good price in my part of the country for the 10-8 and about what I paid recently for mine. The G19 for $250 on the other hand is a steal. That is at least $100-150 less than the most beat up copies are going for here.

I paid $400 or so for my 10-8, and I thought it was high but it was my "birth year" S&W and also a 4" round butt:) It's not often I see one of my favorite guns of all time (the Model 10) in my favorite configuration (4" HB RB) born in 1980 like I was!

$250 is a good price, I haven't seen 10's that low since the early 2000's. The market is now saturated with trade in 64's though, that can be found for $250 or so but I would still be all over that 10-8 for that price if it checked out mechanically.

One of my favorite guns. Way cool with that shiny heavy barrel. A gun that I will never get rid off. Paid about $300 a few years ago. It has one shiny silver spot on the frame below the left side of the cylinder, otherwise it is perfect.

I got a deal on 125 grain Remington +P JHPs. Love beating it a little with them.

I'd get it for sure for $250.00.

I wish I had gotten a few more of the revolvers that i lusted after on the Smith and Wesson poster of about twenty five years ago. In my mind they were always going to make them with one piece barrels, no lock and small, classy engraving on them. Not like the billboards that I expect to see on a Taurus.

You will not be going wrong and if you find you don't like it you know where to go to sell or trade it.
