Took the old vise off the work bench, cut 2x3,screwed everything down, added pads to the jaws, done. May clamp to table if necessary.
Since I have 3 weapons to bore sight, which equals 5 sights, figured might as well spend the time to be stable. Tried a bore laser, not centered to its own bore, so will eye ball. One scope, 2 red dots, 2 sets of irons. The scope is on a Mossberg 340 BC 22 LR bolt, which I zeroed about 49 years ago, but think kids messed with the sights. Actually with a quick bore sight, the scope is not much off bore center.
Will be using ballistic program which gives me sight intersection with bore and target distance, for selected zero distance.

Well that is what I did in the Army, was a carbon based ballistic computer for the artillery. Just a bit more complex than rifle rounds. Amazing how you can shoot 11000 meters and sometimes get rounds on target without adjustment.

That was fun, NOT. Most of the problem is 70 plus year old eyes. Anyhow need everything locked down tight, weapon level, target level to bore and verticle. I can see why people might use a laser, if can make it concentric to its own bore. Did the 22 bolt, with scope. and that was only at 10.5 yards. Ar-15 would be at about 44 or so yards. Might have son do the bore sight. But won't use son until I admit to myself, that I am too old to bore sight. Ha.
On AR attached with blue, the UTG irons and the red dot. Right now without bore sight, the iron sight post below the red dot, iron sight post at mechanical zero.

Nexr will attempt the new T/CR1022,once I figure out the height over bore center for the red dot.

I bought one of these in the 80's. Good for getting on paper at 100 yards with one or two shots. I still use it. Saves a lot of ammo.
