Thermometer went over 100F about 10:30AM, steady at 103F all afternoon.

Yeah, it's a dry heat but it's still real heat.

So, another afternoon on the patio at the club, fans and misters going full blast, staying in the shade and maintaining proper hydration levels with the assistance of the good folks at Anheuser Busch.

What's for dinner? Bacon, tomato, and avocado sandwiches on whole grain bread, chilled potato salad on the side.

Central air conditioning functioning flawlessly, house is deliciously cool. Portable unit in my garage workshop is cranking out a nice flow.

Life is pretty good on an ugly day.

Pretty much the same up here by the airport...

Keep thinking Robin Williams in "Good Morning Viet Nam" doing the weather report. It's hot you fool!!

A BLT sounds real nice but when it's this hot my appetite is the first thing to go.

Lobo, it sounds like a perfect day to enjoy an order of Scotch Eggs and a draft Irish Red at the Shamrock Brewing Company on 3rd Street... :)
The Shamrock Brewing Company will never replace the original Irish Pub, same location. The owner Ted was a friend to anyone who wanted a friend. Turn-of-the-century ambience with pressed tin ceiling, hand-carved mahogany back bar, 1880s building in a historic area, card game usually going at a table, typical old saloon. Place was over a hundred years old when I was a regular 40 years ago. Many of the old places still have tunnels and hidden rooms dating back to Prohibition days.

Now all you find there is overpriced brewpub disappointments for the new illuminati crowd.

The old cigar store and news stand around the corner is long gone also.
