First "Summer Sandwich" of the year

We had a wonderful yankee couple who moved down here from Manhattan and bought a sammich shop..... it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! They were a bit expensive, but they were picky picky with ingredients/breads/ect and you could taste it......

Unfortunately after a few years they retired again, sold the business to some chumps who immediately started using publix brand cold cuts and cut rate cheese..... they lasted about 6 months and folded......
 
Keeping it simple. Tomato fresh off the vine. Fresh baked white bread, Hellman's Mayo (if it ain't Hellman's, it ain't fit to eat), salt and pepper. Wise chips and a glass of milk round it out.

Here in Maine, first tomatoes ought to be along sometime in September. LOL
