My 1076 will occasionally have a dead trigger after using the decocking lever. It seems the trigger bar is getting caught on something and not moving up fully to engage the hammer. If I press the trigger partially while decocking, the trigger doesn't go dead. Sometimes it works after I pull the trigger a couple times, as the trigger bar finally snags the hammer. I've had this issue with both types of sideplates; the one with the rubber spacer and the one without. Retaining ring is also holding the sideplate on securely.

The gun has had the issue ever since I acquired it a few years ago. It does not have the recall dots on the frame.

After removing the slide, press down on the top of the disconnector to see if it moves freely down and pops back up when released. Make sure the extractor lever and the other levers move freely and are undamaged.

I think you're right about the trigger bar not returning upward. My guess would be that the gun probably needs a complete disassembly (down to field strip level) and a good thorough cleaning and inspection. You never know, there could be a small burr somewhere too.

On a side note, do not disassemble the de-cock assembly, it is a bear to get back together.

I tried using a KSD grip insert that holds the roll pin and mainspring (it is plastic and is used under the wood grip to prevent the wood from cracking) and the problem went away. Something about the FBI palm swell grip seems to be causing the issue.
