Last summer I saw a store sell a 1006 for $600 plus $50 tax and a 1066 for the same price. They only had one magazine. I think you did well.
I'm not sure, but I read that 1076s formerly owned by the FBI only got into civilian hands by S&W reselling warranty returns. Given that, doesn't it follow that the absence of a "u" stamped on the bottom of its trigger guard eliminate a 1076 from having been an FBI gun?
If we get lucky, dmc8163, a collector of 1076s, will comment on this.
