I haven't seen any pro or con threads lately about the M&P 10mm 2.0. I hope that means that S&W has addressed the issues that some owners were having. Anyway, here's a pro comment: I took my 4.6" (purchased in Sept. 2022) to the range again yesterday. I had recently swapped out the S&W plastic adapter plate for a C&H metal optic plate for my Holosun 507C RDO and wanted to check it out. I shot a box of Sig Sauer 180g FMJ, and as usual, it performed flawlessly. No magazine or F2F occurrences, and the pistol is extremely accurate and comfortable to shoot. Just wanted to pass along this report, because I think the 10mm is a great pistol!

Good news Hawg.

Mine had been having issues of not locking back after last rd fired lately. Didn't do this for the first couple hundred rds. Got some extra power mag springs from springer precision and going to try it with those next.

Read several threads, and saw videos where the mag springs, and sometimes also an Apex extractor took care of the FTF problem's which I don't have so far(fingers crossed) .

It's just burns my toast that some have had to put their own $ into this gun that should have gone through a bit more R&D.

If the G20 didn't feel like a brick in my hand and naturally point up to the sky like all Glocks do for me, I wouldn't have got rid of that one. Never had any issues at all.

My 4.6" is great. Zero issues. I'm trying to find 200 grain 1200 fps handload. I've got some loaded with #9 that I'll try tomorrow.

Always nice to see more people are having good experiences with the m&p 10mm now.

You picked what I've found to be the best store bought range ammo. The sig stuff is at least closer to full power 10mm than any other range ammo one would get at the store. Short of going to boutique ammo, you won't find a better round to train with.

Have you guys tried running any true full power loads in yours? I've run the Underwood 220gr hard cast in mine and it just eats it up.

It is my woods gun in the fall and spring. So I don't shoot it often. But it ha never any issues.

I've been pleased with my 10mm PC... Two minor hiccups to date, but that was after I'd taken it apart to adjust the rear sight. No issues since.. Currently running a galloway precision 24lb recoil spring. 5 shots into 1" @ 25 yards w/ the Nosler 180JHPs over a dose of Longshot.

I have the 4" M&P 10m/m purchase in February and am thrilled with the gun. It runs perfectly with zero malfunctions or jams and is very accurate with a great trigger and controls and it fits my hand extremely well. Those tall, goofy looking sights are also very easy to see with my aging eyesight and I shoot it better than any iron sighted gun I own. I love the Sig ammo shooting a 180 grain at an honest 1250-1260 fps from a 4" barrel with great accuracy and very manageable recoil.

Went to the range yesterday with the new extra power mag springs and 100 rds of 200gr Hornady XTP's and 100 rds of 180 gr everglades JHP's, and she ran a bit better with no rds poping up in the mag anymore, but still had a fail to go into battery a bunch of times and had to tap the back of the slide to get it in.

20# recoil spring on the way now.

I also carefully watched and felt the extractor while cycling some homemade dummy rounds and it felt pretty rough.

The claw on my extractor seemed to be way too sharp and rough where the claw rides up into the case rim and was literally digging in to the case rim grove which I think was binding up and slowing down the chambering process. I noticed that some cases would catch on a burr or rough spot on the extractor claw and stick up ever so slightly enough to catch the case mouth on the upper barrel hood. Hence having to tap the back of the slide to get it all the way in to battery.

Did some very fine tuning and polishing on the extractor today and smoothed the roughness out. Was going to buy the apex extractor but wanted to try this first to see what happens.

Notice the comparison between the apex extractor (right) and the factory M&P extractor (left). Lots of M&P 10mm owners have solved this issue with just replacing the factory extractor with the apex.

I think in my case the combination of the rough extractor and two weak of a recoil spring is causing these issues, and I'm betting that this is going to work out the problem. Once the 20 pound recoil spring comes in this week i'll be going right back out to the range to test this theory.

In case anyone else ever wants to do this you Polish the extractor with Emery paper but first recontour it with small files just like you would a 1911 extractor to smooth the sharp edges, except obviously you're not going to be bending it for tension being that this is an external extractor with a spring.

Thought I'd update on my experience.

20lb Galloway precision captured recoil spring and rod came in this past Thursday.

Put 200 rds through it and no more issues. Ran like a thief. Also put a couple of mags of 200 grain Underwood, and still no issues.

So it looks like extra power magazine springs, tuning the extractor, and a heavier recoil spring took away all the issues.

So far I have 1138 rounds through this, and I've never had the magazine drop issues that I see some others have now and then.

new 4" M&P 2.0 10mm FTF - only w/next to last round

I've been a bit busy lately, but I've put at least 400 more rounds through mine since my last post in the above thread. I have never had a malfunction with the Springer mag spring, and I have used the other mag with the S&W spring about 60-70% of the last three range trips, and it's not malfunctioned either. I guess some break-in helped.

The only "but" to my experience is with the exception of one box of Hornady Critical Defense, all of my ammo is the weaker factory ammo like S&B and Magtech 180gr FMJ.
