10mm M&P PC with Apex Trigger Reset Failure

Just had my 10mm at the range with a newly installed Apex trigger (professionally installed) and about 70% of the time the trigger wouldn't reset and you had to pull the slide partially back to get it to do it. I tried both the factory 17# recoil spring and a Galloway 22# and four different types of ammo (AAC, PPU, S&B and Hornady). They all did the same thing with most of the time the trigger not resetting. I know very little about striker fired pistol triggers work, so I had the gunsmith at my range do the install. They aren't open on Sundays or I would have had them look at it, I'll have to wait until Tuesday before they are open again. Any thought as to what this might be?

The pistol in question

What I did with it today, with my arthritic hands at 7 yards. I practice at that distance with pistols, because it's the most likely distance I will have to use it at. I'm sure a lot of you could do better groups, but this is good for me.

I had the same issue with an Apex kit in my 2.0 Comp Carry.
No matter what I did, it was slow/inconsistent reset. I ended up putting the factory return spring in, fixed the issue.
I’ve used several Apex kits in the past, this one…was a disappointment.
None of the trigger spring weights were as advertised with the kit, no matter what combo I tried.

Jason, FYI. Recoil spring and ammo have nothing to do with trigger reset function.
if the slide if fully cycling, as in…it fires, ejects empty casing properly, strips a new round off the magazine, loads/chambers a round properly..

If THAT aspect isn’t happening, then it could be recoil spring (doubtful) or ammo related (more likely).

But if was feeding properly, ejecting properly, cycling properly, rule the ammo and spring out.

Apex uses its own sear cam. It is entirely possible the kit was installed wrong, but truth be told, there’s really nothing to them. They’re 15 to 20 minute installs, as long as you’re not all thumbs with small parts. Good luck.

Yeah I know on the recoil spring and reset, I was also trying to test the heavier spring to solve another issue. The gun tends to have random failure to feeds on hotter ammo, but I didn't notice it on either spring this time. The reset issue was kind of drowning out everything else it was so common. I now have a 24# spring in addition to the stock 17# and the 22# I got earlier. Nice to have options, if I need them.
