Question- has anyone else with a 10mm replaced the mag springs with the 10% extra power springs?
I have 5 magazines for my 1006. Two original mags, one later one and two I built with parts I made at my work.

I'm asking because I found that even though the new springs have the same number of coils as the original springs and appear to be the same gauge wire.. I can only fit 8 rounds into the 9rd mags?
I have tried the old followers, original parts vs new, all different variations.. But the mags come to a solid halt at about 8.5 rounds.

Anybody else experience this? Any known remedy?

I've got Wolff's +10% mag springs in my 1076 magazines & yes I can get (9) rounds in it using a UpLULA loader. It's stiff but they go in.

I originally started buying only their +10% springs but later changed to buying only their +5% springs, mainly because the 10% is so strong. To be honest they've both worked fine at the range for me but I lean toward the 5% springs for no special reason.

I haven't had an issue with original factory, but since they are no longer available, I use the +5% Wolfe springs, why use stronger if not absolutely necessary?

The full size M&P 9mm with the CA compliant 10 rd magazine is infamous for not being able to get 10 rounds loaded. The springs used are past being overly strong. Clipping off 1-1/2 coils on the mag spring helps matters greatly and has not caused any issues with my M&P... it might also be an option with the 10% Wolfe springs.

I had a legitimate issue with the springs not being powerful enough to lock back my slide. Whoever owned the pistol before me pinched the side plate where the catch plunger rides, and it was at such an angle that the slide catch had difficulty pushing up under the regular power mag spring.

I have since replaced the side plate assembly and reshaped/polished the detent plunger on the slide catch and could probably get away with regular power springs, now.. I just have nearly $40 into springs that I don't want to throw out.
Thinking I'll try sanding the top and bottom coil flatter to allow some extra space?

I bought new springs and followers from midwayusa amd have zero malfuctions through 800 rounds. Standard strength as far as i know, white followers.

fast shipping..... but they are located in my state.

This is where I come down. I'm a factory spring kind of guy... or I go with the nearest available thing to a factory spring if a factory spring is not available.

Back when I was buying up 10mm magazines in anticipation of a possible future Model 1006 buy, I bought one magazine that had a clearly defective spring. Couldn't get a factory replacement spring at the time so I bought some Wolff springs (+10% I believe). In fact, I decided to put new Wolff springs in all that I owned at that time... just for the heck of it.

But I never got around to it. Financial realities hit and forced me to sell off most of the 10mm magazines that I owned. In a fortunate and very well-timed twist, I was able to obtain brand new factory springs for the magazines before I put them up for sale. :) Better those than the Wolffs I thought.

So now I am stuck with a bunch of leftover Wolff 10mm magazine springs. ;) If anyone wants them, let me know. :)
