Greetings! New S&W owner ;) started the dros on compact 2.0. Picked it up new for $375 plus fees. Thinking about couple things:
Putting in the flat trigger and at some point getting an optic for it. Plan is to make it a spare 9mm. Ok fine... Only 9mm as I'm a 45ACP guy and my other 9mm is a WWII antique ;)

Any thoughts/recommendarions about that one? I don't want to go too crazy with it as I try not to mod my guns too much ;)

Try the trigger. 1.0 triggers were not great and many people routinely replaced those triggers. 2.0 triggers were significantly improved. The only real reason to change a 2.0 trigger is if you prefer a Glock-style straight trigger with a safety lever in the middle of the trigger face over a curved trigger with a hinged trigger safety.

Don't change trigger till after you have lots of snap cap time and or 400 rounds of range time . Give it a chance to smooth up . You can spend a few minutes stoning and polishing on the parts of the connector that press on the striker block . Just break over the change of angle you can see on it mot reducing the of the top of the connector height !!! This will smooth the trigger pull and pull weight slightly . Assuming your pistol after 400 rounds has proven reliable then you can do as you wish for change group upgrades .
With not thumb safety option on the sku number you have shown some kits can give you a rather short reset and light pull weight . My 2.0 compact has a apex fst kit But with there curved trigger not straight trigger , I hate the straight triggers in general . My pull weight is 3lb 6oz with a reset to break length close to 2ths of an inch . More 1911 like than a striker fired pistol .

$375 new? You must be exempt. Even so, that's a great price.

Nonetheless, I agree with Hardluk1 that you should go shoot it first. Try out the different size backstraps, different ammo and different drills (if you're into that) until you determine what works/doesn't work for you. The tall sights take a bit of getting used to when your not looking at them through a red dot. You'll go through that again once you put an optic on it.

Welcome to the forums from the OC!!
