Wow, imagine if J Leno had a gun in every car he owns?

According to government statistics, there were 10,076 deaths attributed to drunk driving in 2013.

10,076/365 days per year=27.6 deaths per day.

That is the equivalent of one Sandy Hook per day for EVERY day of the year.

Where is the outrage? Where is the call for closing all bars and liquor stores? Where is the outcry for background checks on everyone who buys alcohol?

Most people drink in one form or another, most people don't own firearms. End of discussion....

Therein lies the problem. When most people do something it is hard to take that away. When most people do not do something, they don't care if it is taken away. But for the NRA and the gun people sticking together, our guns would have been taken a long time ago. As gun ownership decreases, the chances of confiscation and a loss of the Second Amendment becomes greater. The gun grabbers are prepping for the future, we are fighting for the present.

How many are suicides?.......they shouldn't be counted given:

1) growing "legalization" of suicide (is it 2 States now),

2) assisted suicides, and

3) that "other pesky issue" Which is partially justified on the position that one should have the right to control what happens to one's own body.......


Accidents shouldn't count..... or we'd have to ban automobiles and chainsaws.... etc.

There are about 11,000 "homicide by firearms discharge" in the U.S. every year. 6,000 are blacks killing mostly blacks. Actually, black men killing mostly black men.

The hbfd rate for non-black men in the U.S. is under 2 per 100,000, which would rank us among the best in the world.

11,000/365 = 30.1 per day

6,000/365 = 16.4

5,000/365 = 13.7

13.7 per day among 286,000,000 people. OH NOES!

CDC ........."unintentional drownings" about 10/day......3650/year

..................2 of the 10 are under 14

.................for every child who dies; 5 children receive ER care that's 10/day............or.......... 3650/year!



So "For the children"...... we must........ fill in those pools... close those beaches....

I hang with a lot of gun folks so it's easy to get a distorted view of the norm. Still, I'd be surprised if much more than 3% have 25 or more guns. On the other hand, I was surprised to read that only 3% of Texans had a carry permit. Eh... I know what's in my safe and it's not much of my business what's in yours anyway. And it sure as heck ain't none of the government's business.

Everyone I know carries a gun. You got to have a permit? When did that happen? I only have one gun & is a pellet. I have a cane pole for fishing also on the Texas side of the Red River between Oklahoma & Texas. You have to get an Oklahoma license to fish from the Texas side.

I use those same stats when I'm in a conversation / argument with a liberal anti 2A elitest ( when I can stomach it) and all I get back is a blank stare and a " yea but "
