I found this from a guy that was cleaning out his dads stuff and said he did not want it was long. scuffed and a few light rust spots, cleaned up nice with flitz and some wax, I will take the stocks off and sand and coal with tru oil, should be a great shooter. What do you think?

Assuming you paid a fair price, congrats. Even Smith and Wesson doesn't make'm like that anymore. K38's a true classic.
 
That's a good looking one. I'm always surprised at how many M14's got beat up during their lifetimes. I saved one a few months ago.
 
I really like 14's! Why not??? There are some nice 1's out there at decent prices. This one was a hair over $400 shipped. Bob
