$140 Schofield

Me, brother and buddy were at gun auction. I was regular there
and had permanent number. We had bought several guns and
misc items. A bunch of stuff I had no interest in was coming up.
I decided to go out for a smoke. Handed my number to my brother and went out. 20 minutes later I came back. My brother
was beaming, he had bought a new Schofieldreplica for $140.
I pulled his string a bit, thanking him for the buy, on my account.
At end of auction I was filling out paper work on guns with the
auctioneer'so wife. We were almost done when I told her she
left out the Schofield. She said no papers on non-firing replica!
My bro just paid $140 for a model gun. He felt so low we were
going to stop at Farm&Fleet to get him a wheel barrow to push
his jaws home in. To this day when we want to hack on him, we
bring up subject of his$140 Schofield.

I actually had what was likely the same replica, made by Denix in Spain. They are popular in Europe for display, where actual firearms are restricted. I ended up with mine in trade from a guy who used it to practice his cowboy gun handling. He missed it so he eventually got it back. Oddly enough, I liked that thing. It actually was a good way to practice. I later purchased a Spanish made full size, almost full weight, replica SAA. It "loads" with real brass shells that take a toy pistol cap. Best cap gun I ever had... at age 40.

List price on a Denix is around $110 to $120, Amazon usually has them for 80 something.
