15-22 Barrel connection

I have been having some inconsistent accuracy with my 15-22

It is probably me, but after reading about loose barrels and barrel nuts I got to looking closely at my barrel. If you look in the first hole (to the right), and the closeup of the same hole, you can see there is a little over 1/8 inch of thread showing where the barrel and nut come together. Does this look normal?

Mine looks exactly like yours with 1/8th of thread showing.

Same here. But you still should check if the nut is snugged up.

Thanks for the quick response.

I'll look at getting/building a barrel nut tool and make sure. Part of me wanted it to be loose so I can blame the accuracy on the gun.

Now I'll have to force myself to stop pulling the trigger 2-4 times fast!
