So far, this rifle has been very rewarding and imo a good investment. Knock on wood, no performance issues as others have written of. Last night, my boy and I went to the range and in quick fashion, he fired 200 mini mags w/o a hicup.:D
Returned home a little too late to clean the rifle so I did so tonight....and found it almost impossible to get cleaning patches down the barrel. I'm just using the square generic type. Any suggestions appreciated.

+1 on the boresnake. best $14 you will ever spend at walmart

What size patch are you using? I have a Hoppes .22lr cleaning kit and it seems to work fine. The patches I have are like 1"X1"

boresnake. Thanks guys:D

x3 on boresnake.

Cleaning behind the extractor is a PITA, rest of it is super easy though

With the Snakebore do you just put a little Hoppes on the brush and run it through the barrel?
How many times?
No need for cleaning patches?
How often do you need to clean the Snakebore?
I never used one and have no idea.
Thanks for your help....

Try cutting your patches smaller.

Boresnake is for quick cleaning only.

+1 I use my ak patches and just cut them in half. No problems so far with just standard one piece cleaning rod. I wouldn't mind having the snake for a quick fix. ( like if I was gonna shoot 2 or 3 days in a row and didn't have time ) ;)

funny story. i was shooting the other day at larrys pistol and pawn in huntsville al the other day and noticed they have a 15-22 as one of the guns you can try out. they guy said he estimates that it has had 20000+ rounds thru it and they have never cleaned it. he said it has never jammed or had any problems whatsoever!
