I've read all the good and bad about the new 15-22 and I must admit it gives me a lot of apprehension, however the local Scheel's, where I purchase most of my guns has a couple of these new S&W's in stock. I gave one a good looking over yesterday and it kept screaming "Buy me" the whole time. So today I'm going up and snatch one up. Sure hope I don't regret it.

Thanks to everyone who supplied all the Pros and Cons for the new firearm, you all helped me make up my mind on this one.

Hopefully most of the reported problems have been on the early production ones. The only problem I had with mine was a feed ramp that needed polishing to feed lead solids. One patch with some Flitz and one sore finger tip later, problem solved! Good luck and let us know how you made out.

Try gunbroker.com too, they seem to have some good deals on the M&P 15-22.

Some early ones seem to have issues, although some of these could be operator error since the loading of magazines can be a touchy endeavor.

Mine is a newer one and I had some FTFs because I didn't totally understand the magazine loading procedure as completely as I needed. I expect to correct this next time out.

Go for it. In the unlikely event you have problems, S&W is there to back up their product.

+1, go for it. :D

Playing with this 15-22 is very addictive. :p
