15-22 in .17?

When S&W gets caught up fixing the problems with the 15-22 (they got mine today), I wonder if they have any plans on making either a whole firearm or perhaps an upper in .17 Mach 2? I’d grab a .17M2 upper in a heartbeat.

Pretty sure .17 caliber is considered unsafe to fire in semiautomatics.

They have had problems trying to get the .17 HMR to work semi-auto, but I think there are several .17M2's out there. I could be wrong, I'm married so I'm used to it.

Maybe not the .17 but I think your on to something. It would be nice to have a M&P with a little more than a .22 lr and less than a .223.

3¢ a round works for me. And is the only reason I have this lil' carbine. M4 trigger time gets expensive shooting M855 ball at commercial prices of 47¢/each!
