What is suggested maintainance for magazine (25 round)? Takedown, oil, etc.?

I took mine apart (per the manual- very easy) and lubed up the magazine follower. I use Rem Oil. Shot pretty well, but I don't think it was because I lubed the mag.

Lubing a magazine can cause it to collect dirt, especially since the MP15-22 are open sided. A good brush out periodically is all that should be necessary in any magazine.

I don't put much oil on it. I just put some Rem Oil on a q-tip and rub down the sides where the follower would touch the mag. I also lightly lube the springs too. I don't think it's a problem unless you use excessive oil.

I also lube all my handgun mags, and it definitely helps. Most of the time when I reload the mag will hit the deck and can get pretty dirty. It's easier to clean with it being oiled.

Lube is not really needed on a 15-22 magazine. There are no metal to metal bearing surfaces. But if you feel you must apply some lube, use dry lube only.

The only maintainence necessary is an occasional cleaning as needed.
