Have any of you all every crono'd these or tested them. I plan to get a 686 soon and plan to carry these. I have a box laying around. My question is how do they perform. I use GD's almost exclusively in my other guns except my 1911 that didnt feed them right. My question is are the a viable SD choice even though they are on the heavier side than most prefer?

I was just concerned b/c of overpenetration issues. I always carry heavier rounds for winter and lighter rounds for summer. I already plan to get some 125 grain Remington for summer carry.I was just aminly concerned of the overpenetration issues with the 158 grain 357. Most of the people I talk to only use it for huting.

It's what I have loaded in my "Jeep" gun. Went with 158 gr because I sometimes carry it in the woods hiking, etc -- if I don't have the 629 MG along. I still have some 125 gr Gold Dots in my stash, but don't carry a .357 that much, any more.

Sounds like you're good to go.

I would be a lot more worried about my missed shots than the hits which go all the way through. They didn't even get slowed down.
