Stopped into a gun shop in the bay area and they had a used 16-4 with a 4 inch barrel, looked like it was in like new condition. They wanted 1800 bucks for it I am not up on the value of these but if anybody wants one let me know and I will send you the name of the shop. I don't have 1800 dollars burning a hole in my pocket and that price sounds steep but maybe I don't know what they are selling for these days. Looked like a really nice revolver.

The stupid CA roster nonsense really screws things up for people in CA.

I am an big 16-4 fan but that is a pretty steep price for this revolver. I sold a couple for over a thousand this year but way under that asking price.

I offered up a 16-4 4" that was mint, 99.9% blue at $1600, then $1400, then $1300 and still no takers and this was about 3 months ago. I think the market for the 16-4 has softened considerably. I ended up trading for a very early 3.5" 27-2 in similar condition quite happily.

As big a fan as I am of the K-32 (of any vintage) that price strikes me as way more than is rational or than a dealer to expect. A dash 3 or 2 will bring that and more, but the dash 4 was made in much larger numbers (and much more recently) and according to the best information I've seen, the 4" and 6" variants were sold in about the same numbers in this variant. I would expect to see that gun for a maximum of $1500 and as friend Stu mentioned above wouldn't expect it to bring even that very quickly. I don't know how much the Kalifornia effect would add, but surely not that much!
