What was your first Smith and Wesson??

My first was a 2 inch square butt model 36 in 1972, bought a new model 65 same year that I later carried as a local cop. Model 36 went to Ex-wife, model 65 still at my house. Cut the square butt to round butt and it became my horse back riding gun, carried in a cross draw rig. Stainless heavy barrel in 357 has a lot of merit. Later went to model 19 for PD carry, still have that one too. Great guns.

I was given a S&W .38 Single Action 2nd Model, non-firing, when I was in my teens - given by a mentor. He suggested I carefully take it apart to explore the workings. It had a burst barrel or cylinder as I recall.
I did take it apart…but putting it back together correctly never happened. The mentor went away and the neat old revolver was lost in the sands of time. As previously stated, it wasn't my last S&W.

Like many. My first was a 4" Blued M-19-3. I bought used from an ex cop. I paid $200 in 1982

Since then I have put another $200 into it. So I now have $400 into it over 43 years

But it's still a gorgeous gun and perfect shooter
