I had the good fortune to photograph this model. One of our own (MEMPHISBELLE) built this model. The detail and the craftsmanship of this B17 is truly amazing. He was contracted to build this and has 3000 hours in the model. The plane is at the Toledo R/C model show this weekend. I hope that you enjoy the pictures.

Tried my hand at Photoshop made some of the photos B&W

Awesome. He even picked up the panel lines and rivets. The .50s and ammo feed are terrifically detailed. I didn't know that MB had nose art on both sides with different colored dresses.

Truly beautiful! How is it transported? Do the wings detach?

I bet that costs at least as much as an original B-17.

Amazing. And to think it's radio controlled, no one is on board, and it isn't that much smaller than small Cessna 152's I flew in many years ago … 33 foot wingspan vs. 16 feet.

Yes the Memphisbelle has nose art on both sides and the swim suit colors were different. I used original b&w pics for location and pictures of the original plane in memphis for color.

MEMPHISBELLE,

That is beautiful work. I can only imagine how painstaking that project must have been, and so rewarding to have completed it in such a fashion.

Do you have an idea as to how many hours you actually have in it all together?

Are the engines actually radial engines?

Simply amazing. The B&W photos could be WWII vintage.

How much does the entire model weigh? What size/type of RC motors and servos get it up and away?
