17-2 value?

Saw a nice 17-2 at a show this morning, nice condition 96-97% with some muzzle wear. Had correctly numbered magna's. They wanted $975 which I'm quite sure is on the high side....maybe . It was "marked down" from $1292 .
I know very little about these fine firearms, what's the "going rate"? for a revolver in this condition? Thanks K22 fans.

Mike, there are many here far more into these things than I am, but I watch the selling prices of real world gunshops here and in a few other areas. That is way out of line for one, even in 99%condition. The -2 wasn't anything special that I have ever heard of other than being a K-22. It should be marked more in the $450-$550 range IMO, especially in that % finish condition.

Did it have an odd barrel length or anything like that?

No Tim, nothing special. I thought it was overpriced, now I know by how much.
I saw an Outdoorsman also, posted it in the pre 61 section. If you know something about them, could you please comment?

I agree with Tim on the value of the gun, they can be found in the range he offered.
