Fair market value of period correct box & docs?
Full disclosure........I just sold Ken (the OP) the April 1972 Model 17-3 revolver. In fact Federal Express will pick it up within the next few hours.
I never thought when listing the gun for sale to check my big plastic air-tight tub container in the attic that has a bunch of older (one really old (1915)), and newer, and even plastic for modern semi's, boxes...........some with docs I've gathered over the years.
Anyway......... the attached pics are of a correct period box for that Model 17-3. The end label indicates a Model 14-3 with serial number 12 K 6426 which would be approx. 1977 per SCSW 4th.
The box is in excellent condition, no tears, no moisture damage, solid corners.
The docs are for a Model 17 and are also genuine period correct.
Please.............FORUM...........let me know a fair market value for the box and docs, shipped via USPS priority Mail and I believe USPS Mail, includes insurance to $100. I admit I have not sold accessories as a separate item before, hence looking for what's fair for all.
KEN: I'm not saying you want this package....just that I would certainly give you first crack at whatever the Forum says for value.
