Hi guys, I do a lot of reading here but post little. Anyway, I bought this from a guy that was leaving the area and lightening his move. I paid $350.00 for it and think I did ok but would like other opinions as the bluing does have a few small blemishes on the cylinder and one on the barrel about an inch from the muzzle. It's tough to see in my pic. Also, would you know the year of manufacture? s/n k4084xx

Congrats on that fine Model 17. That would easily be a $550 to $600 gun around here.

Your serial number places it in 1960 (range was K386805 to K429894 for 1960) per SCSW 4th.

Those diamond target stocks are likely worth $200 and if they're the non-relieved version maybe $300. The gun where I shop is $600-$800, probably closer to $800. Enjoy.

would buy today at that price … finish looks pretty good in picture overall to me. prices on those are much more than $350, run a search on sold prices on gun broker for the model and see what comes up … you'll see how good of a deal you really did get.

I actually did buy two firearms from him. This one and a Sako .375 H&H Mag.
