Hi Folks,

I came across a 19-2 with the original box/docs/tools.
It comes with full target options and the box states all options. Dates to around 1965. It is a 4 inch barrel. It does appear to be in the very high 90's in condition. I would say 96% to 98% It has the target hammer and target trigger with red ramp front and white outline rear. The target trigger is smooth and in the features section on the label it states smooth trigger. The target stocks are period correct with the diamond.
I am assuming the smooth target trigger is probably a rare item on this model as well as the rr/wo on one this early.

I am using my phone to post this so I dont have the ability to post a picture at the moment.

I would like to know what type of value this gun has with the original box and full options? How rare is one with all these options? Would this be worthy of a factory letter?

Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance for any answers or opinions.

Twig.

Everybody has their reasons for a factory letter. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. At that age not much chance it was shipped to somebody famous but it does sound like it was special ordered with the smooth trigger. Roy won't be around for ever doing these letters so that would mean a lot to me to have one of his letters. But that's just me. As you describe the gun and without photos I would be thinking $700-$800 but i'm no expert.

Hi Twig,
A 19-2 blue with those features just sold on GunBroker for $1086. A nickel 19-2 just sold for $1875. Hope that is helpful.

I'd have no problem paying up to $1100 for the gun described. I've noticed lately, "complete" guns are many times not. Some sellers are removing the paperwork and/or tools and selling them for a premium on eBay. I shop there often for these items because the guns I buy are missing them. It gets rather disappointing having to spend another couple hundred to "complete" a "complete" gun.

Uh, I don't know what happened to the original grips.

$1100, count me in also X 2. I find equally present sellers that seem to have no idea what happened to the period correct grips. In some cases if you just have to have the proper grips you can easily start adding a $100 to the price even for a premium quality pair of diamond magnas as I would like to have on this 15-2 someone lifted the grips from.

I just modified my amount Todd but would still be in for at least one at this price.

Raylan007 I thought I caught that "$110" typo pretty fast. Apparently not. Should you run across any for anything close to that $110 price let me know, if you pass, I'll take them all (provided I can talk them down to under $100).

Well,I've been actively searching (mostly online) for one like you have and have not seen a single one in the condition you describe for less than $1000! And that's a FACT! They are asking $600 for JUNK. :(

f.t.

p.s. I would not letter it,but that's just me.

Most of the 19-2's did not come with the options you mentioned so it may have been a special order gun. In which case a factory letter verifying same would increase the value of the gun.
The smooth (combat trigger) was seldom seen on a shipped gun during the 19-2 years.
If you can, buy it. If you can't, let me know and I'll buy it.

I have been looking for a 19-2 as well. I don't see them that often. I'm looking forward to pics!
