I have this on hold, the seller is convinced it has been refinished because it has a "matte finish", I'm betting it has not.

Opinions? Even if it has, I would enjoy it as a shooter!

Serial number puts it @ 1966 I have not seen it in person, seller's pics.

Thanks.

I completely agree with Bill. And I see no evidence in your pictures of an aftermarket refinish. If you buy this revolver, it might be worth a letter. Even with the Goodyears on it, I'd be a buyer if the price is reasonable.

No obvious signs of a refinish. I really like it and for that price, it would be hard to say no to. I would love to see the letter if you decide to get one.

A nice set of Target Grips would wake the look
up a lot😁

I'd bet refinished, but it's not your average local "gunsmith" with a buffing wheel. It appears to be excellent work from the photos.

A very well done refinish is my bet, I'm even thinking the case color on the trigger and hammer are a little off, a professional job if they're redone as well, that's for sure.

I like it for $699.00

Good luck,

Is it my vision or does the barrel look a little "plum"?

I noticed that as well, not sure that means refinish or not, but I agree.

If it is refinished, it was done by someone who knew what not to do.

It just seems like the cylinder is almost too good compared to the frame.

There are a lot more knowledgeable people here than me, so FWIW just my .02.

For the price, I don't think you can go wrong though. I would have the grips pulled and pics sent as mentioned by others.

Have to agree with Bill and Lee....If it is factory original matte finish, it was special order. And I have to bet on refinish.
Still, Its gonna be a nice piece for that price.

I accidentally purchased a refinished Model 19 (2 1/2" in CA for $700!!! - leaped before looking) and while well done, when I opened it up it was obvious the gun had been reblued. And, there was alot of white gunk in there which I assume were from bluing salts.

Although it could be a special order factory finish, my gut is saying this Model 19-2 has been given an aftermarket refinish.
