My LGS just put out a very clean 19-3, S/N 5K41***. It's a round butt 2.5 incher, pinned and recessed, with non-diamond Magna grip panels that number to the gun. Standard hammer and trigger. It has a very faint turn line, and the front ramp is black with no colored insert. It has been fired a bit, but I see no scratches or finish wear anywhere on the bright blue finish. No box or papers, though.

They're asking $849, which strikes me as a good price for a very clean K frame snubbie these days. Like I say, I don't really need it, but I have lots of 38 Special ammo on hand from when I shot IDPA with a 4" Model 10, and the force is strong with this one. Am I thinking right on the value?

Need has very little to do with it. That isn't a GREAT deal but is far from unreasonable in the current market. I have one like that and I like it a lot. In fact I actually qualified with it a while back. It points very well for me and has the benefit of looking cool. SCORE for you. Congrats.

Don't need it???????? Of course you need it. We all need it ! That's a good price in my area. Just saw a 66-2 with non matching grips go for $899

$849 more than a fair price for a M-19-3 with 2.5 barrel. Many LGS would have it tagged at $1K.

In today's market, a 2 1/2 inch barrel Model 19 in excellent condition is easily $1000.

Yup, this.....

I am fixing to list a 19-5 for more than that, and I expect to sell it in hours locally. Same with 66 snubs, they are going over a grand for nice guns.

Not a bad price for the current market. I believe that prices on vintage Smith revolvers in very good condition will only continue to rise. They certainly are not going to decrease in price anytime soon.
