I picked up a 19-4 2 1/2" shooter, not much to look at with a worn finish and Hogue rubber bantam grip, but good mechanically. It has a round butt and a 1/2" wide hammer, and a 1/2" wide serrated trigger. I am curious about whether this could be the original trigger, it is as wide as the trigger guard. Also, I would appreciate any holster recommendations, IWB or OWB?

Yes, it could be the original trigger. S&W would put any trigger,or hammer on you special ordered. A friend has a 2 1/2" Mod 19-2 all "target".

Check Simply Rugged for a holster. IWB or OWB is your personal prefference.

I sometimes carry a 2 1/2" 19-5 in a Don Hume "JIT" slide made for K-frames.

I carry my 66-1 2.5" in one of my Slides which I have some in stock.

Here is a BQ version with Python inlay.

My shooter 2-1/2" 19 is also a -4. It was carried a lot but hardly ever shot before i got it. Finish worn and pitted but tight as a drum and one heck of a shooter.
I carry it in a Bianchi #5 Black Widow. Rides high on the belt and keeps the grip tight to the body.
