19-4 4” blue value??

If you can get a clean one for $700 I’d call that a good deal. I have a pristine 19-4 4”, gun only. I wouldn’t consider selling it for $700. But I don’t WANT to sell it.

Around here I’d think a clean P&R 19 would fetch ~ $800+

I paid $699 +tax for a fairly clean 1972 19-3 4” today from a local shop. This one even had a trigger stop. I thought that was a decent deal. I rarely see 4” blued 19’s out in the wild.

Where in the world do you guys find deals like that? I have not even seen a pre-lock Smith & Wesson at a LGS in years. And in Southern California I am sure it would be at least $900-$1000 if you could find one. That is a beautiful 19-3 that you scored there.

Thanks.

This 19 is a C&R, so you could probably shop GB or here for 50+ year old 19's. And you'd probably find a better deal than what you'll get gouged on from a local CA shop. Assuming C&R's are still roster exempt.

But as I mentioned, I rarely see 19's out here in free America. And when I do, they don't last long. That's why I jumped on this one when I saw it. I know it would be gone by tomorrow.

I was at a gun show over the weekend in Montana. 19-3 and -4 ranged $750-1200, all based on condition.

A clean model 19-4 will disappear very fast at eight bills

At least here in South West Virginia.

When one doesn't live in a communist state, one sees things available in a non-communist state, IMO.

In what's known as the "traditional South", there are small gun shops in any decent sized towns. Almost all of them will have at least one pre-lock model in their case(s).

I know of one dealer who does gun shows, I'd easily wager he has more than 200 non-lock Smiths. He doesn't take them all to a show, sadly. :D
