19-4 DOB

I know there is a dob website somewhere but I'll be hanged if I can find it....

Picked up a really nice 19-4 over the weekend; P & R, no box. SN is 73K93xx. Can anyone give me a dob?

It sure does!!! I have to find a different hobby.

No, doesn't mean much at all. There were just a lot of commemoratives made in that serial number range that had the TM on the left to make room for the logo.

The right side plate is blank so I guess it commemorates nothing. Still a mighty fine shootin' iron.

So educate a newbie....does having the trade mark on the left side change the desireability of the gun?

I don't see why it should but, it may to a couple people. It was just one of the many, many little things that S&W did differently through the years. Not too long after, the TM was moved to the left for good.

If anything, you'll probably find more 19-4s with the TM on the sideplate than you will with it on the left so they are 'less common'.
