i was hoping for some opinions on ball park price check on a 1905 3rd change target model.i do not have the revolver, and cannot post pics but may do a trade.i would rate it about 80% blue finish.sq. butt, target model, has the correct grips i do not know if original,i believe it is a 5 in. barrell.i was also wondering if i should take the rear sight off because it seems somewhere i heard they should number to gun, does anyone know for sure.i am going to take a better look this weekend and will know more.the possible trade would be a 35-1 target,98%,all matching in box with tools,it is a very nice revolver.any advice or opinions appreciated.thanks curt.

If the 1905 target is a factory original target model, then the rear sight base will have the gun's serial number stamped on it. Be very careful in removing that rear sight base as the screws are very very small and bugger easily if the exact correct screw driver is not used. In fact, I would not remove the rear sight, let the seller do it to prove originality, unless the price of the gun is no more than for a service sighted gun converted to a target. Ed.

thanks ed,i asked if he ever took sight off and he said no,he may not want to take it off,but before i would ever try to aquire it i would have to know.i still don't know if it would be a fair trade or not, because the 35-1 is as nice as could ever be found.thanks curt.
