My #2 son is looking for a wooden handguard for a 1903-A3 rifle. Everybody seeems to be out of stock right now and there wer none at the show. The one he ordered on Flea Bay is currently lost in the supply chain and has been for several weeks. There were none at the Gun show this weekend.
My question is about the 1903 and the A3 variation. Does anybody know if the two handguards are the same? Does anybody have one they want to get rid of? I am willing to pay for it and the shipping if you have one.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry, the 03 handguns will fit but will have a cut out for the rear sight system.
Yes, Model 1903's have a sight mounted on the barrel and the handguard is relieved for it. 03-A3's have a receiver mounted rear sight and the handguard lacks the hole.

Thanks to everybody who responded.
For what ever reason Sarco and Gun Parts are both out of stock on the handguards both new and used...at least as of last Wednesday.
I really appreciate the info on the difference in the handguards. That will make the search easier.
One of the forum members thinks he will be able to furnish us what we need to finish #2 son's 03-A3 stock project.
