Well I recently bought a 1903 2nd model, 5th change hand ejector in 32 long. The other day while taking the grips off, the main spring broke in half? I have looked at all the parts houses that I know of with no luck and I am wondering if anyone here knows where I can pick up a replacement hammer spring. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

It is possible to cut down a standard mainspring to fit.

Also, check ebay.

There is a .32 double action mainspring on ebay. This is for a top break S&W. Don't know if it will fit or not.

Thanks, I tried Jack First and numrich and I asked to be notified at Jack First. I have ordered from them before. What would be the best mainspring to cut down? Asking nicely please help an old man :)

Any factory K, L, or N frame mainspring can be cut down to fit.

What town are you near in NC? You can send me a PM about where you live if you wish. I live about 25 miles from Sparta NC and will be in Statesville this Saturday.

That mainspring was used thru 1952. There have to be a few still around. I'm not home with my files but if you google S&W parts you'll come up with a list of parts sellers. Popperts comes to mind as one I recall.

I have ordered some K frame main springs to try and cut one to length to make this old revolver work again. I hopefully will know more in a few days. I have reloaded 100 rounds for this little guy, and did not even get to shoot it before the spring broke. It will work again, one way or another.
Thanks
Ron

Well got the old 32 hand ejector fixed up with a K frame main spring. Got out an shot 3 cylinders full on 98 wadcutters. Working fine now, old revolvers never die!
