New to the forum but would like to share this and get some opinions on additional info please. This was gifted to me by a friend. It was her grandfather's service revolver from the 1920, he was a policeman in a small SC town. From what little I know it's a 1903 Hand Ejector in 32 long with from what I can tell all original parts including the stocks which have penciled serial numbers on them. All the serial number match; frame, cylinder, barrel, grip strap, ect. There are three serial numbers on the crane and yoke that are the same but do not match the pistol. She knew I collected pistols, mainly Colt 1911a1 and neither her or her sister have any interested in firearms so they offered it to me with his original duty holster. I've cleaned it up and I'd rate the finish at 50%, the bore at 90% and the grips good. Any additional info would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks, L A Mauro

Welcome to the Forum. You have a 32 Hand Ejector, 2nd Change, or Model of 1903. This particular model was made from 1906 to 1909 in serial number range 51,127 to 95,500. Your revolver would have likely been manufactured in 1908 or 1909. Ship dates are what the factory used and it probably would have shipped in 1909 or 1910. The only way to be sure is to get a factory letter.

The star means that the gun returned to the factory at some point in its life for repairs, refinish, or both. Look on the butt-frame under the left stock for numbers and let us know what you find. The numbers usually signify the month and year the gun was returned to the factory.

Welcome to the forum.

Nice gift. You need to shoot it to properly appreciate it's accuracy and the enjoyment of the 32 Long cartridge.

A photo of the left side of grip frame with grip removed will show all markings that can tell us more about the factory work done.

Thank you for all the replies and the information. I will look inside the grip strap and see what numbers are there. Thanks!!
