That's what I think I bought anyway. Just checking to see if that's what it actually is. It's a .38 Special. Serial number 259215. I was told it was made in 1914.

By the mid 1910s, the company had eliminated the model year and opted for M&P, so your revolver should be a 38 Military & Police, 4th Change. There are no known manufacturing records and the company did not typically track manufacture dates. The shipping ledgers became the official dates for the company. It is likely that your revolver shipped either in 1916 or 1917. Exact ship dates are available in a historical letter from the Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation.
