I would like a 1911 9mm, like my 45acp (sku 108282); same gun, same stainless look, and the same price. The price point is important as it places it with the Kimber Target II, within the grasp of a lot more shooters. Please ensure that it passes the CA. safety test so i can own one.:D

Hi Guys1911 and everyone,

You wanted a 1911 in 9mm..... What about the SKU 178047, is there a big difference?

Unfortunately here in NY, even the SW1911 Pro Series I mentioned above is illegal here because the magazine holds a maximum of 8 (not 7) rounds.

I've been looking for a 1911 but one with a 7 round mag.... don't even know if such a thing exists?

That SKU is silver. I'd buy one in black. Never have liked silver guns...makes me feel like Howdy-Doody...or the Lone Ranger.

I have SKU 178020 and this is a Pro-Series 1911 with a 7-round magazine (and 3" barrel)

I've been eyeing one of the Smith 9's # 178047, but just haven't been able to pull the trigger on one. (Take the play on words for what it's worth.)

There's no better target pistol in my hands than the 1911. I have a few of them all but one chambered in .45acp. My one exception is a .38 Super.

It's a great shooter, but for my use there's no practical advantage to the smaller bore. One nice thing about the .38 is the array of bullets it shoots.

I've shot everything from 115 grain .355" to 158 grain .357" bullets through it.

Still, if I buy another 1911 anytime soon it'll be one of the above.

Yeah.... I don't think we're going to get any new 1911's here cause they require mag disconnects now and no loaded chamber indicator (needs a little flag, the notch isn't good enough).....

Save up and find a shop to do a single shot exemption.
