1911 extractor

I was asked last night if there is any difference between an extractor for a Series 70 1911, and a Series 80 1911. To my thinking I don't think so, however I have seen some length variations in extractors t fit Springfield Armory or Colt.

There's a notch in the series 80 extractor to clear the plunger in the slide.A series 80 will work in a series 70 gun I believe,but not the other way around

I knew there was a notch in the firing pin to clear the plunger, but wasn't aware there had to be one in the extractor.
